Rare vintage Boda Nova glass teapot with lesser seen teak handle. This model usually has a cork handle. Designed by Signe Persson-Melin, Sweden 1970s. In very good vintage condition, slight rust over handle attachment.

Signe Persson-Melin (1925-2022) was a Swedish industrial designer known for her minimalist and functional approach to design. Her breakthrough came at the H55 exhibition in Helsingborg with a series of spice jars in white-glazed ceramic. She established her own workshop in the 1950s and went on to design for companies such as Höganäs, Boda Nova and Rörstrand. In 1985, she was appointed Sweden's first professor of glass and ceramic design. She is recognised as a key figure in Swedish design history and her works are represented in many international museum collections.
